Reflection · The Passion of JesusDo you understand why the disciples fled and left Jesus?
The disciples felt the instinct to flee because they beared witness to what persecution looks like at the garden when Jesus was taken. They felt vulnerable. They felt their lives being targeted. When at the table when Jesus proclaimed to go make disciples of all nations, they did not realize how tough this world would be on them until the moment they saw Jesus being tortured and crucified.
