15Connection or division depends on the Christian, not the platform. Jesus taught that it is what comes out of a person that defiles them (Mark 7:15), and social media simply gives that overflow a bigger stage. Paul reminds us that we have been made slaves of righteousness (Romans 6:18-19), yet we sometimes present our members, now our thumbs and keyboards, for things contrary to that righteousness. Social media is therefore a stewardship question. When we use it for righteousness' sake, we sow and reap a harvest of blessing: encouragement, shared prayer, the gospel carried across borders. When we sow discord and dissension, we reap those same fruits (Galatians 6:7-8). Use the tool well, and it can help us reach the whole world for Christ. Use it for our own sake, and it leaves us defiled.
