Yes, depending on the situation. Rahab lied to save the Israelite spies and because of it God spared her family. her action was considered a righteous action. Is lying a sin? yes. Is deception to spare a child from harm or refusing to give a hurtful answer a sin? I don’t believe so. if my daughter says… do I look pretty in this? I would say… do you feel pretty? because pretty is the joy on your face when you love what your wearing… not what other people think.
